When my boys were little I loved dressing them in plaids, stripes and polka dots. To this day, neither of them will wear any of those prints, but I love them anyway! My favorite things polka dots, plaid and green AND Fiesta. Kissy and I started with Vernonware's Tam O'Shanter, Franciscan and Fiesta and I was intent on doing an Irish flag sort of table, but as we played with tablecloths and runners the polka dots kept being our favorite, so we went with it!

Post '86 Fiesta has nine shades of green (if you count Lemongrass as green) starting with Seamist, Chartreuse, Juniper, Shamrock, Evergreen, Lemongrass, Sage, Meadow and finally, Jade. Vintage Fiesta has five shades of green (if you count the CasualStone colors,) Light Green, Chartreuse, Forest Green, Medium Green and Turf Green. This table setting uses ten of the greens! We mixed Butterscotch with it to pick up the orangey paprika color on the Luncheon plate.

The plate stack was tall with four plates stacked up! The bottom plate was a Fiesta chop plate, followed by a Fiesta dinner plate, a Vernonware Tam O'Shanter luncheon plate and finally a Franciscan Ivy Bread and Butter plate! The plate stack is on a woven place mat. The napkin is an antique ivory emroidered napkin in glittery beaded green napkin from HomeGoods. The silverware is my everyday Mikasa Harmony, and the glasses a fun white frosted gold polka dotted Tom Collins glass (probably MCM) from our local antiques store.

I've had the Vernonware Tam O'Shanter plates for years, the color is daylight is much brighter, definitely more Irish flag colors. The Franciscan Ivy just happened to be next to the Tam O'Shanter in the cabinet and we pulled it saying, "Hey! This matches the setting!" One of the many reasons I love Fiesta and Franciscan -- the colors are so versatile!

Kissy and I layered the tablecloth too. The bottom tablecloth is a polyester ivory tablecloth that doesn't need ironing and washes so nice -- I have two of them. On top of the ivory base is a green polka dotted cloth that is folded in thirds across the width of the table and finally the white burlap green polka dotted runner.

The centerpiece is a green depression glass console set my brother gave me a gift, a large round bowl and matching candlesticks. AnnaLee leprechauns sit in the bowl. The striped candles complete the table!

Just a bit of the green and luck of the Irish for St. Patrick's Day!
