Falling leaves

As the Mamas and the Papas famously sang, "All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray." "California Dreamin'" is among my favorite songs, and Franciscan's October ranks as one of my favorite dish patterns. Where has the time gone? There are only 45 days until Christmas and just 16 days until Thanksgiving! The good news is that I have my turkey ordered, my Thanksgiving table is planned in my mind, and I've made lists for Christmas cookie baking and shopping. Yet, here I am, still setting fall tables!

The colors on the plates—such as oranges, golds, browns, and sages—complement Fiesta beautifully, offering endless combinations! For this table setting, I chose Fiesta Paprika, Persimmon, and Marigold to highlight the plate colors. I enjoy combining depression glass with patterned plates, and for this stack, I included Fostoria amber Swirl salad plates. The wood grain chargers were purchased from Hobby Lobby. I had planned to attach fall silk leaves to them for Thanksgiving, but I've since reconsidered, so they found their way onto this table! I'm still undecided about adding the leaves to these chargers, but for now, they look fantastic with these plates.

The glassware I used is from Ikea. The pattern is called "Vardagen" in warm dark brown, and they are paired with stemless wine glasses from Pier One in a beautiful amber with gold flecks.
I finally purchased a set of gold flatware. I've been wanting one for a while but couldn't find a set that wasn't too minimalist or too ornate. I believe I found the perfect set! It came from HomeGoods, but I discarded the boxes before noting the name. Unfortunately, they aren't marked. I am planning to use them for Thanksgiving and Christmas since both Royal Worcester Evesham and Lenox Holiday have gold trim. We'll see if this flatware actuallly ends up on the tables.
The napkins came from one of my favorite Etsy shops, and I love the pops of bright purple mixed with the oranges and greens.
The centerpiece for the table is leftover sunflowers from last week's farmers market and Trader Joe's mums in a Fiesta canister in Persimmon. I added adorable mushroom salt and pepper shakers from the Dollar aisle at Target from a few years ago. I set the table, took the pictures, and then realized it was still missing something, so I added the candles. The brass candleholders came from Hobby Lobby and finished it perfectly!

The buffet is decorated with a dough bowl and leaves, along with a charming offwhite and gold turkey I discovered at Goodwill! A leaf garland tops the mirror, enhancing the room with additional beautiful fall foliage. Bittersweet entwined around the chandelier completes the look!

The Thanksgiving table is next on the agenda. We're anticipating the arrival of our dear friends BH and Kissy to join us for Thanksgiving, after which Kissy and I begin arranging the dishes and linens. Meanwhile, my youngest son and I are heading out for a walk among the autumn leaves!
