We love breakfast. Hubby is a great cook and makes amazing breakfasts, especially fritattas. Dear friend Kissy and her husband are visiting and there isn't anything better than sitting down to breakfast with a good cup of coffee and a delicious fritatta. As we had company, and I was up early, I decided to set a table.

My summer colors Fiesta are in the cabinets now and include Scarlett, Shamrock, Sapphire, Chartreuse, Poppy, Lavender, Marigold and Butterscotch. I knew exactly which tablecloth I wanted to use with those colors, it is a vintage Italian print of a sunny yellow plaid with red, blue and green flowers on it.

I didn't do a fancy plate stack, just dinner plate and berry bowl in Scarlett, Shamrock and Sapphire. Madras napkins were a perfect match with the colors. Finally, vintage Indiana striped glass ware picked up all of the colors in the table.

My green truck and a bowl of stone fruits sat on navy and red placemats as centerpieces until the food arrived. Hubby really outdid himself on this fritatta; sauteed onions, peppers, mushrooms, bits of bacon and chicken apple sausage, cheese and to top it all off - zuchinni blossoms! It was delish!

This is my favorite time of year at our local farmers market, the variety of fresh, organic from the farm fruits and vegetables we have is incredible. This week, they had bags of zuchinni blossoms, which is a household favorite, especially when we stuff them with mozzarella cheese and fry them for dinner! Which is exactly what we did last night. We did save a few for fritatta. The fried blossoms were crispy, salty with perfect mozz cheese string pulls!

It is stone fruit season in Northern California, so we had peaches, plums and apricots that are so juicy and sweet we had to make fruit salad for breakfast. I added a bit of homemade citrus marmalade and mint to the fruit which added and extra layer of flavor.

It's been a great weekend of cooking -- it's a team sport at our house and we ate well! I love summer meals with fresh fruits and vegetables and a colorful table to serve the great meals on!
