When life gives you lemons...

You set a table! Who doesn't love sweet, tart, fresh lemons? Lemon is one of my favorite flavors - given the choice between a chocolate dessert and a lemon one, I will always pick lemon. In our yard we have dwarf lemon, lime and calamansi trees. Last fall #2 son and hubby moved them all to half wine barrels and we had a bumper crop of lemons for the first time.
Lemon curd is so easy to make, I always thought it was difficult, double boilers and such, but I found a recipe on Pinterest that was simple. Did you know you can freeze lemon curd too? I have several containers in the freezer ready to pull out and use for a dessert, though truth be told, I could just eat it with a spoon! In this case, I purchased the lemons to stuff into a whole chicken we were roasting.
When Fiesta came out with the Citrus Tree decal on the luncheon plate, I immediately ordered a set for me and a set for my bestie -- she loves lemons as much as I do. I've had them in the cabinet for several years - a while back I found the lemon placemats at the Dollar Tree and it was all just waiting for me to set a table!
Fiesta also produced another "Lemon" pattern, 2022-2023, which feature sprays of lemons in branches. I love those as well, however, I do prefer the color plates, rather than white, so I didn't purchase them.

I don't often set a table without a tablecloth in the dining room. My grandmother's table has a water stain in the middle of it and someday I will refinish the top as the wood is beautiful. A few well placed placemats in the middle of the table and no one will ever know!

The centerpiece is two different bowls. The bottom bowl came from Fishs Eddy fishseddy.com made by Homer Laughlin - but not Fiesta. It has the iconic Fiesta rings, and the color is very similar to vintage Fiesta Forest Green. I was there in February and they still have them along with a gorgeous burgundy color. I had wondered if it was not trials for a new color, but there have been several releases since then. On top of it is a Fiesta Presentation bowl in Chartreuse. I love Presentation bowls, the Art Deco style of it is so classic. I filled it with lemons and limes, added a bit of greenery and it was perfect!

The Fiesta colors I used are Shamrock (under the citrus tree plates and bowls) Marigold, Chartreuse. Home Goods has a huge collection of lemon server ware, where I found the little lemon bowls, along with the three lemon server bowl. Each time I go to Home Goods, I look to expand my collection.

The napkins are a green and gold napkin from April Cornell and the napkin rings have a lemon and blossom on them, I probably bought these at Hobby Lobby. The glassware is Noritake Breeze in green and my everyday silverware; Mikasa Harmony.
All we need is some fresh squeezed lemonade. As they say, "When life gives you lemons, you set a lemon table!"
