Green is my favorite color. Which green, you ask? Every shade of green! There are nine shades of green Fiesta, and I love each one! From bright greens to pastel greens, muted greens, and true greens, I love them all. One of my favorites, now discontinued, is the St. Patrick's Day shade, Shamrock.

Setting a St. Patrick's Day table is a tradition in our home, along with preparing corned beef and cabbage. I have perfected the craft of making Irish soda bread, and we enjoy Guinness with our St. Patty's dinner. Growing up in Milwaukee, WI, there was a significant Irish community, and every summer, an Irish Fest was held at the lakefront, which my parents would take us to. Irish Fest continues to be celebrated in Milwaukee with Irish dancers and vendors. My best friend still resides there, and we've attended a few times because her daughter was an Irish dancer!
It's impossible to discuss Ireland and St. Patrick's Day without mentioning the wee folks! Leprechauns, pixies, and other small magical beings insist on having a place at my table! When my sons were young, they would set leprechaun traps every night before St. Patrick's Day. Although they never caught one, glitter and chocolates were always left behind!

I adore Annalee pixies, though not every Annalee figurine appeals to me. I discovered a charming leprechaun couple at Home Goods. The green pixies on my table have been gathered over many years, and their condition varies. I restore them when needed, but I cherish them, imperfections included!

When friend Kissy and I began setting the table, I wanted an all-Fiesta theme. The dilemma was choosing which shade of Fiesta green to incorporate. I already had the tablecloth I wanted, a lovely shamrock and daisy pattern I discovered at HomeGoods last year just in time for St. Patrick's Day.
We selected three distinct shades of green for the table of six: two each of Shamrock, Jade, and Chartreuse. While I was selecting various chargers to experiment with, Kissy discovered the ideal napkin match! I found this hippy daisy print on Etsy and couldn't resist purchasing them! I'll also use them for a few daisy-themed tables - the colors are incredibly vibrant and cheerful!
We wanted green to stand out on the table by placing a green woven placemat beneath a rattan one, allowing the green to subtly show. We kept the plate stack simple since the table was already quite busy. With the addition of the pixies, the table setting was complete!

The Treble Clef flatware, from Cost Plus, brings a touch of whimsy to the table. The glassware is my daily-use Noritake Breeze, featuring a lovely soft green hue.

We used a variety of napkin rings, including two distinct green beaded rings and a bright green flower, keeping with the theme of multiple shades of green with the napkin rings.

Whether you smooch the Blarney Stone, sip on green beer, or dance a jig, enjoy donning green this St. Patrick's Day!
