It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This year, I found it particularly difficult to take down the fall decorations. The trees are still full of colorful leaves, and the mums remain fresh and lovely. However, with only 25 days until Christmas and work-related travel scheduled before then, Kissy and I began decorating the inside of the house today. The interior is nearly finished; one tree is up but not yet decorated, and there's another tree to set up and decorate, which can be completed next weekend.
Kissy and I replaced all the Fiesta fall dish colors with Christmas-themed ones. We selected Jade, Seamist, Scarlet, Cinnabar, Meadow, and my new Farberware "Winter Scene" for daily use.

As I was browsing Etsy, the "Picks Inspired by Your Shopping" section kept showing me these plates. Each time, I told myself, "I don't need more Christmas dishes!" Yet, every time I returned to the Etsy homepage, there they were, prompting me to repeat, "I don't need more Christmas dishes!" In the end, it turned out I actually did need more Christmas dishes!
Winter Scene is setting the scene for the first holiday table of the Christmas season! Viola Lee is photobombing the picture!

My older son often asks, "Are we going to eat at that table, or is it just for pictures?" Today, we actually dined at the table. As we prepared for dinner, we skipped the elaborate plate stacking because we were hungry! The tablecloth was a festive red and green plaid, which made the plates stand out. We tried a few different plaid napkins and liked the one with white that matched the plates. The napkin rings, still in their boxes and never used, complemented the napkin perfectly, making the choice simple. The silverware was my everyday Mikasa Harmony, and the glassware was my everyday Noritake Breeze. The centerpiece featured a holiday arrangement with three candles.

The design on the Winter Scene plates is absolutely charming! It features skaters, children making snowmen, sledders, and someone bringing a Christmas tree home... truly a Winter Scene!
Hubby and Kissy's husband are preparing Anne Burrell's renowned meatballs for dinner, while Kissy and I are using leftover Thanksgiving squash to make butternut squash gnocchi, which certainly calls for a special table setting!
By next weekend, we aim to have the trees decorated and an additional table arranged! And maybe some more cookies baked. It's starting to feel a lot like Christmas!
